Lawrence Dale Green

Lawrence Dale Queen, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:30 A.M., Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the Jackson County Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro.
Dale had worked for twenty-five years as a sausage stuffer at the Du Quoin Packing Company.  He was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church.  He was a life member of the Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II.
He was born October 1, 1923 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Ira M. and Rebecca (Huggins) Queen.
He married Fern Wrolen on May 11, 1946 at Du Quoin, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Danny Queen of Du Quoin, one daughter - Sandy Arnold of Marion, four brothers - Fern Queen of Rhode Island, Ovid Queen of Columbia, IL, Ira Queen Jr. of Percy and Meril Queen of Tamaroa, one sister - Hilda Moss of Du Quoin, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son - Donald Dale Queen and two brothers - Rod and Lester Queen.
Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Mike Ebert officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Jackson County Rehab and Care Center Activities Program.
Military graveside rites were conducted by Du Quoin VFW and American Legion.
